Northeast Vikings’ boys soccer mounted a valiant effort against Lincoln College Prep Oct. 25 during the Interscholastic League Championship game, but fell short, losing 5-4.

Lincoln Prep Coach Pat O’Connor said his boys played their best game of the year during the championship game.

“They passed the ball better than they have so far this year,” he said. “I was happy for the kids. They worked hard.”

Two key players who helped clinch the Interscholastic League victory were T-bow Ngome, who scored three goals, and Simon Davies, who scored two, O’Connor said.

Both Lincoln Prep and Northeast went on to district play.

Lincoln Prep played against Pembroke Hill Oct. 30 in the Class I, District 15 tourney. Bracket winners of the Oct. 30 game will go on to play at 6 p.m. Nov. 1 at Pembroke Hill High School, 5121 State Line Rd., Kansas City, Mo.

Northeast played against Liberty North Oct. 30 in the Class 2, District 15 tournament and the winner will advance to the Nov. 1 game at 6 p.m. at Excelsior Springs High School, 612 Tiger Dr., Excelsior Springs, Mo.

East High School took to the field against Raytown South High School Oct. 30 during the Class 2, District 14 tourney and the winner will advance to the Nov. 1 game at 6 p.m. at Grandview High School, 2300 High Grove Rd., Grandview, Mo.
