Larry Thomas Phillips, 68, died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2011. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, 2117 Independence Blvd., Kansas City, Mo. Graveside services will follow at 11:45 a.m. at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Raytown, Mo.
Larry was born May 19, 1942, in Kansas City, Mo. He moved to California in the 1960s where he was co-owner of a restaurant and worked in the banking industry.
Larry worked for Cantor-Fitzgerald investment firm for many years before retiring. He personally trained many of the employees of the 105th floor of One World Trade Center that was destroyed in the 9/11 attacks.
He moved back to Kansas City in August, 2010.
Larry was preceded in death by his mother, Mary (Counti) Reid, in 2008.
He is survived by his sister, Kathleen King and husband, Don of Lenexa, Kan.; brothers, James Joseph Reid and wife, Debbi of Independence, Mo., Robert Elton Reid and wife, Robin of Liberty, Mo.; nephew, Joey Reid and wife, MaryBeth; nieces, Angel Stone and husband, John, Rebecca Davis and husband, Luke; great-nieces, Keeley and Sophia Stone, Adrianna Reid, and one forthcoming.
