Beginning today, in response to the theft of thousands of Hyundai and Kia vehicles nationwide, the Kansas City Missouri Police Department is now offering free steering wheel locks to owners of most Hyundai and Kia vehicles.
The free, steering wheel-locks are available at any of the six, KCPD Patrol Bureaus or from the Community Engagement Division at headquarters located at 1125 Locust between 9am and 3pm Monday through Friday.
Applicants must provide proof of residency in Kansas City, MO as well as proof of ownership of a qualified vehicle. A list of eligible vehicle models is shown below.
