Kansas City police have now identified the man who died during a confrontation in the 100 block of Olive on Oct. 31.
Sherman D. Hicks, 36, was shot after he allegedly stabbed three men.
According to police, the four men were socializing at an apartment when Hicks allegedly became upset and stabbed the three victims. Hicks then allegedly whipped out a gun and in turn, one of the stabbing victims pulled out a gun and shot Hicks multiple times.
Police found Hicks dead at the scene. Two of the victims were transported to the hospital, where they were treated and released. The third victim was listed in critical condition, but is expected to survive.
