In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the Kansas City Public Library’s AmeriCorps VISTA Project is currently accepting donations for their 2020 Hygiene Kit Donation Drive.
To help the less fortunate, the kits will be distributed to individuals experiencing life challenges in Kansas City.
Donations of travel-size personal care items will be accepted at any Kansas City Public Library location from January 2 to January 15.
Accepted kit item donations include shampoo, conditioner, body wash, soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, washcloths, combs, hair brushes, nail clippers, adhesive bandages, and period management products.
Northeast residents can drop off items at the Kansas City Public Library North-East branch’s interim location at 5930 Wilson Road.
The Kansas City Public Library serves as an AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) intermediary sponsor, partnering with local organizations serving as AmeriCorps VISTA member host sites.
