Meet LaVonn. LaVonn is the recipient of a $25.00 Aldi gift card made possible by the generosity of the Historic Northeast social media community in a holiday campaign organized by Scarritt Renaissance resident Michael Stringer. LaVonn struggled with drugs and alcohol and lived on the streets for years. KCPD Social Worker Trena Miller got LaVonn plugged in to the services and resources she needed to get off the street and get clean. However, gaps still remained in the services she receives. The gift card will put much needed groceries in her fridge. “Thank you so very much” she said. “You don’t know much this helps me through the week.”
