A reliable source has informed Northeast News that Animal Control is conducting sweeps in Historic Northeast.
As of 2:30 p.m. today, at least 16 dogs from the Northeast area had been turned in to the Kansas City Animal Shelter, the source said.
Northeast News has attempted to contact the city’s Animal Control and is waiting for comment.
If your dog or cat is missing, please visit the city’s animal shelter located at 4400 Raytown Rd., Kansas City, Mo. Hours of operation are: Tuesday – Friday, noon to 6 p.m.; and Saturday – Sunday, noon to 5 p.m.
Animals can be picked up by Animal Control for violations like not having a pet licensed with the city. Residents can purchase a city license at the animal shelter, which is $10 for one year or $27 for a three-year license. Tickets for animals found without a city license can be up to $75 for the first offense.
