It’s official. Kansas City Missouri, Police Department deputy chief Joseph Mabin was sworn in this morning by Circuit Judge Kevin Harrell. Mabon replaces outgoing chief Richard Smith after Smith served in the position for five years, culminating a 34-year career with the Kansas City Missouri Police Department. Maben will serve on an interim basis until a new Chief.

local partners in the community, and  building trust and strengthening relationships with the community,” Mabin said shortly after the ceremony, thanking the Board of Police Commissioners for the opportunity to serve.
