Suspected human remains found at 28th and Highland on the morning of Wednesday, April 6 have now been positivelyidentified.

On Thursday, April 14, the Kansas City Police Department announced in a press release that the human bones belonged to KCMO resident Ezekiel Willie, B/M, 5/14/91. The remains were initially uncovered during a city clean-up project at around 10:00 a.m. on April 6.

In the update, police identified the remains as being found at 28th and Vine. Willie had been missing since August of 2014 in what was believed to be a homicide. This brings the total number of homicides recorded in Kansas City during 2014 to 82. Detectives are following up on leads and ask anyone with information to call the TIPS Hotline at 816.474.8477.
