One man is dead following an early morning shooting on Independence Avenue.

Sunday morning at 2:30 a.m., Kansas City, Mo. Police Department (KCPD) officers were dispatched to the area of Independence Avenue and Lawn on a reported shooting.

When they arrived they located an adult male victim in a vehicle at that location. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was declared deceased.

Preliminary information is the victim was shot inside his vehicle by an unknown assailant outside the vehicle. No suspect information is available at this time.
