Thursday evening at a little before 10 p.m. Kansas City Missouri Police officers responded to the area of Independence Avenue and Oakley on a hit-and-run accident involving a pedestrian.
A silver Volkswagen Beetle was traveling west on Independence Avenue and ran over the pedestrian. The vehicle continued West pulled into the parking lot of a local business where the driver got out to look at the front of the vehicle. The driver then got back in and drove Northbound on Oakley Avenue.

Shortly after that a gold Honda CRV also traveling west on Independence Avenue ran over and dragged The Pedestrian under the vehicle for a short distance. The Pedestrian was transported to an area hospital with critical injuries. The first driver fled the scene. The driver of the Honda  was not injured.
