An overnight, 4-alarm fire at the Dorson Apartments at 918 Benton Boulevard displaced over 25 people and sent two people to the hospital.
Firw crews responded to the blaze at roughly 2:20 this morning. Given the number of units in the 100+ year old building, additional EMS units were called as a precautionary measure. Firefighters rescued a number of people from second and third story balconies when they arrived.
Fire investigators remained on the scene this morning, working to determine the cause of the blaze. In all over thirty Fire Department vehicles responded to the acene including a pumper truck from Kansas City, Kansas.
