One woman is dead following a disturbance in Lykins.

Tuesday evening just after 9:15 PM, Kansas City, MO Police officers (KCPD) were called to the area of 7th Street and Spruce Avenue on a reported disturbance. Upon arrival, officers located one victim, an adult female, suffering an apparent trauma in the front yard.

Fire and EMS personnel arrived on the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital where she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased.

Detectives and crime scene personnel continue to investigate this crime. KCPD is working with Partners for Peace in all their homicide investigations to monitor risks for retaliation and provide social services to affected residents.

On Thursday, the victim was identified as 31-year-old Elizabeth Stivers.
