Director of Solid Waste Services for Kansas City Michael Shaw addresses Mayor Sly James and a small crowd during the May 31 re-opening of the Deramus Recycling center in the East Bottoms. The center closed earlier in May for site improvements, which were funded through a grant from the Mid America Regional Council.
