Now in its 16th year, Cultures Without Borders is seeking artists for its 2012 exhibit.

Chosen artwork will be displayed in the lobby of the American Heartland Theatre at Crown Center, 2450 Grand Ave., Kansas City, Mo.

Juror Joseph L. Smith will whittle down the artwork to the best of the best. Smith has a Master of Arts from Central Missouri State University and his works have been included in more than 100 juried exhibitions on international, national and regional levels.

Artists interested in participating in Cultures Without Borders, sponsored by Northeast Arts KC, must submit their entries and $40 registration fee by Jan. 31. Artwork should reflect the theme of “Cultures Without Borders.”

Other requirements are:

•Must be 18 years old or older

•Original artwork only

•Work completed within the last three years

•Maximum of three entries per artist

This year’s awards are $100 cash for the top 2D, 3D and mixed media art.
