Wednesday, Dec. 4- Wreath Lighting Party, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Prospect Plaza Park, 1100 Prospect. Join the Independence Plaza Neighborhood Council as they light up wreath decorations in Prospect Plaza Park. Cookies and hot chocolate will add to the festivities. Free.

Friday, Dec. 5- Soul of Santa Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the 18th & Vine Historic Jazz District (Corner of 18th St. & The Paseo). Free.

Saturday, Dec. 7- 15th Annual Pendleton Heights Holiday Homes Tour, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Six Pendleton Heights neighborhood homes will open their doors for this year’s tour. Styles range from Victorian to Mid- Century Modern, all decked out for the holidays. Tickets available online or day of the tour at PH Coffee, 2200 Lexington Ave. Tour ticket includes the Kansas City Modern Quilt Show, open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the gym at Scuola Vita Nuova Charter School, 525 Garfield Ave.

Saturday, Dec. 7 & Sunday, Dec. 8- Northeast Arts KC Open Studio Tour. 10 a.m.to 6 p.m., Saturday, 12 to 4 p.m., Sunday. This year’s tour includes 28 artists, creatives and authors. Start your tour at the EGG (2659 Independence Blvd.), then pick up a map to other artist’s studio locations.
