Saturday, August 4 – Honey Harvest, 4 to 6 p.m. at the Pendleton Heights Orchard, 2617 Lexington Ave. Come and learn about local bees and their hives, and watch their honey being harvested. Honey and other items will also be for sale and fun activities for the kids too. See ad on page 3.

Tuesday, August 6 – 4th District Night Out Against Crime, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., McCoy Park (1524 White Ave.) The National Night Out event is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police and community partnership to make neighborhoods safer and healthier places to live. Fun for the whole family: bounce houses, face painting, hot dogs & chips and demonstrations from the Kansas City police and fire departments. Free. Sponsored by the 4th City Council District.

Thursday, August 8 – Coffee, Culture, and Conversation, 10 to 11 a.m., 2657 Independence Ave. Come celebrate National Money Day with the Northeast Chamber of Commerce. Learn about the history of currency and fill up with fun facts, coffee and treats. Sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce, free.
