Friday, October 6 – Join us for the Carl J. DiCapo Italian Heritage Festival from 6-10 p.m. to kick off Italian-American Heritage Month! At 901 E. 19th Street, we’ll have traditional Italian music including the Gumbas, Frank Vigliatruo, Vince Scola, Julia Scozzafava, and Jammin’ Jan & the Gratitudes. Delicious food, including Italian Gardens Pizza, Scimeca’s Italian sausage, chicken spiedini, pasta with meatballs, and Italian cookies. We will have a 50/50 cash raffle. Admission and parking are free. All proceeds go to The Salvation Army.

Saturday, October 14 – Explore Northeast Kansas City’s historic architecture on the 10th Annual Northeast Kansas City Historical Society Homes Tour from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This year’s tour will be in the North Scarritt Renaissance Neighborhood. Saturday, October 14 – PH Fairy Lights & Alley Murals Wrap Party at 5 p.m. Meet up in Pendleton Heights’ Jade Alley. Check out the completed murals and visit with the Kansas City Art Institute students who created them. Wear comfortable shoes for the after dark Fairy Light Walk. Saturday, October 28 – Cliff Hanger 5K, 10K, Walk & Kids Fun Run at 9 a.m. All runners will receive a Cliff Hanger Shirt, finisher medal, custom bib, free photos, and a snack after the race! Starting and finishing at The Colonnade on the Concourse, passing The Kansas City Museum, historic homes, the waterfall on the bluffs, and traversing along historic Cliff Drive, the only state-designated scenic byway in an urban area.
