Friday, June 16 – Pop In at the Park at Budd Park from 3 to 5 pm. Free books and art activities for kids.This week the fun and learning will focus on snakes. Saturday, June 17 – Free Shred-It drive thru event at the Northeast Chamber of Commerce, 2657 Independence Blvd. from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Bring your tax documents, bank statements, any kind of document that requires secure shredding.

Saturday, June 17 – Tai Chi in the Park returns to Independence Plaza Park at Independence Blvd. and Brooklyn, on Saturdays 9-10 am. Join Instructor Gary Huff for an hour long session in the north part of the park adjacent to the Pendleton Arts Block.

MONDAY, JUNE 19 – The Indian Mound Neighborhood Association’s monthly meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. at Budd Park, not the North-East Library, in recognition of Juneteenth, the national holiday. Agenda will include board election nominations and updated Budd Park shelter information.

TUESDAY, JUNE 20 – General Municipal Election. Polls open at 6 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. to vote for City Council, Mayor and KCPS Sub-District 3. Check KCEB.org for polling locations and sample ballot information.
