Earl J. O’Toole, 84, passed away Oct. 29, 2012, at Heritage Village, Gladstone, Mo. Per Earl’s request there will be cremation with no services. Arrangements are by McGilley Antioch Chapel, 3325 NE Vivion Rd., Kansas City, Mo.
Earl was a 28-year employee of Milgram Food Stores. He served from 1946 to 1947 in the Army during the Korean Conflict.
Earl was preceded in death by his brothers, Bill O’Toole and John Raymond O’Toole.
He was a loyal brother and friend, who for 42 years provided care for his brother, John. Earl was a human partner who was modest, passive and held no malice.
Survivors include two nephews, Tyrone O’Toole and Kenny O’Toole, Kansas City, Mo.

Robert Earl “Red” Edwards, 91, passed away Friday, Dec. 14, 2012. Visitation was held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18, at McGilley and Sheil Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Robert was born March 19, 1921, in Independence, Mo., to Ruth Violet Lanham and Perry Marvin Edwards. He was known to many as thrifty and hard-working. As a young man he started his own welding and repair business, working out of his garage. He was respected as the person who could fix or build anything and he had a remarkable understanding of how things work. He worked for Sears for 31 years, retiring in 1984. He was well-liked and respected at work as dependable and capable. He enjoyed buying houses that needed repairs, doing the work and then renting them out.
Robert is survived by his wife, Delta Juanita Farris Edwards, of the home; sons Robert (Bob) Harry Edwards (wife Linda Jackson Edwards) and Perry Lester Edwards; daughters Delta Earlene Edwards Flewelling (husband Gary) and Kathy Ruth Edwards Drews; sister Margery L. Smith (husband LaMarr Smith); seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
