Robert Wayne Stivers

KANSAS CITY, Missouri — Robert Wayne Stivers, 62, flew to his heavenly home on eagle’s wings on March 29, 2015.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Ararat Shrine Hospital Transportation Fund or to the church.

Bob was born June 27, 1952, in Kansas City, Mo., the youngest of five sons to Jack Otis and Bertha Jane (McClendon) Stivers. His parents preceded him in death, as well as an uncle, Richard McClendon; aunt, Sarah McClendon; and an infant niece, Laura; niece Arletta Stivers and a great nephew Cole Stivers. Bob served nine years in the U.S. Army, receiving an honorable discharge in 1980. He later graduated from Black Hills State in Spearfish, S.D.

He worked over 15 years for DHL Delivery Service. He joined Hessen Masonic Lodge 884 in Buttelborn, Germany in 1981 and was a member of the Rising Sun Lodge and Tall Cedars of Lebanon. He was also a member of Ararat Shrine Temple and the Guides Unit where he served as Director.

Survivors include his wife, Linda; children, Nathan Wayne Stivers, his wife Amanda, and Bobi Jo Stivers; step-children, LinMarie Jo Balfe and Joseph Michael Balfe, Jr.; grandchildren, MaKensie, Cora Mae, Taylor, Teagan, Skylan, and a granddaughter due in April. He also leaves his brothers, and their spouses, Charles and Margaret, Henry and Linda, Douglas and Diane, Thomas and June; as well as many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Mamie “Mae” Cariddi

KANSAS CITY, Missouri — Mamie “Mae” Cariddi, 81, Lee’s Summit, Mo., passed away very peacefully on Friday, April 3, 2015, embraced in the arms of her husband and daughters at Centerpoint Medical Center.

Visitation will begin with the Rosary at 4 p.m. and continue until 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, 3736 S. Lee’s Summit Rd., Independence, Mo. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 8, at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, followed by entombment in Mount Olivet Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the Jim and Mae Cariddi Endowed Scholarship Fund for students of Italian heritage at Park University.

Mae was preceded in death by her parents; brothers and sisters-in-law, Joseph and Vivian Nuccio, Vincent and Cele Nuccio, Emanuel “Manny” Nuccio, Frank Nuccio; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Anna and George Lomonte; and son-in-law, Joseph H. Wickey.

Survivors include her loving husband of 63 years, James G. “Jim” Cariddi; her daughters and sons-in-law, Grace Ann and Frank G. Ancona, Ginna Terrill, Joette and Steve Brownrigg, Anna Marie Mathenia and former son-in-law Kelly Mathenia; grandchildren, Philip, Ginna (Diego), Alissa, Maegan (Kyle), Christy (G), Jimmy, Nicholas, Andrea, Sicily, Valentino, Remy; 13 great-grandchildren; brother and sisters-in-law, Ross and June Nuccio, Mary Nuccio, Nicci Nuccio; special great-niece and caretaker, Lisa Alexander; and many nieces, nephews and godchildren.
