Wayne G. Murray, 71, formerly of Kan. City, Mo., died surrounded by family on Wednesday, July 17, 2013, in St. Joseph, Mo.
He was born Dec. 3, 1941, to Dale and Lorine (Watts) Murray in Axtell, Kan.
He was an electrician for Montgomery Ward for more than 30 years and served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He was also an entrepreneur who was involved in real estate.
Wayne enjoyed hunting and reading westerns. He was the uncle that could fix anything. Wayne was a KC Chiefs fan, K-State fan and a KU fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Dion Murray; and a brother, Steve Murray.
Survivors include: daughter, Stacey (Park) Jason, St. Joseph, Mo.; three grandchildren, Anna, Henry, and Laurel; brothers, Glen Murray (Leslie), Farmington, N.M., Gene Murray (Viola), Auburn, Kan., and Lawrence Murray (Pat), Topeka, Kan.; sisters, Shirley Capps, Oklahoma City, Okla.; Clarabelle Frahm, Pine, Colo., Violet Howat (Dick), Milford, Neb., Lois Wehl (Jim), Manhattan, Kan., Wanda Edwards (Doug), Holton, Kan., and Linda Braddock (Duane), Seaside, Calif.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services were held Monday, July 22, at the Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment followed in the Cowgill Cemetery.
