In a statement released today (Dec. 31) the Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office has charged an individual with multiple felony charges in connection with a shooting in Maple Park on Sept. 18, 2024.
Austin Stiles, a juvenile, has been certified to stand trial as an adult. This defendant faces two counts of Murder in the 2nd Degree, two counts of Robbery in the 1st Degree and four counts of Armed Criminal Action.
Following a report of multiple shots fired, responding KCPD officers located two victims in the street on Lexington Ave., near Maple Park (303 Maple Blvd.) The deceased were identified as Jimmy Bowman (22) and Antonia Frazier (15) and acquainted with the assailant.
The incident was recorded on surveillance cameras and cell phone video which assisted the officers in locating Stiles two days later in Maryland Heights, Mo. An accomplice was located and interrogated on Oct. 21 in Overland Park, Ks. but has not been charged at this time.
