MRC Soccer: Mattie Rhodes Center and Guadalupe Centers teamed up in their continued effort to get the community vaccinated against COVID-19. The two-day Blocking COVID Soccer Tournament and Health Fair was hosted this weekend at the Ninth and Van Brunt Soccer Fields. Nearly 20 partners were on site to share information about services, perform health screenings, register voters, provide entertainment for the whole family, and vaccinate against COVID-19. PH Community Event: PH Coffee’s first “The Community Event” was a hit this past weekend as they shared new, creative food options, hosted pop-ups and musicians, tasted beer from Crane Brewery, and welcomed performers at an open mic. “Our goal in hosting this event is to create a space where the community can meet and greet and get to know your neighbors,” PH Coffee organizers said. Little Free Library: The Pendleton Heights neighborhood finally celebrated the opening of its Little Free Library this past weekend in the PH Community Garden at Brooklyn Avenue and Minnie Street.
