A little over a day after the charred remains of an abandoned mobile
home moved from the old Heart Village Mobile Home Park was discovered under the 23rd street viaduct near I-435, crews with Industrial Salvage & Wrecking, contracted through Jackson County have completely abated the
site.
According to a release from Jackson County Executive Frank White, the county has offered Kansas City any assistance in determining who was responsible for dumping the mobile home under the bridge and setting it
ablaze.
“Illegal dumping is one of the most serious issues plaguing many
neighborhoods throughout Jackson County,” said County Executive Frank White, Jr. We stand ready and willing to provide any assistance that the City of Kansas City needs to ensure those responsible are held accountable to the fullest extent of the law.”
The investigation as to who dumped the mobile home and why is ongoing. Inspections are scheduled for the underside of the viaduct.
