Take a hard hat tour of Corinthian Hall, the more than 100-year-old home of lumber baron Robert A. Long and his family. Kansas City Museum, 3218 Gladstone Blvd., Kansas City, Mo., will host the free tours on Wednesdays at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

La Chalupa Farmers Market
Mattie Rhodes’ La Chalupa Farmers Market will be held from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and features locally grown produce. The farmers market will be held every Thursday at the Mattie Rhodes Center, 148 N. Topping Ave., Kansas City, Mo. SNAP/EBT cards will be accepted.

VFW Post 9997 is hosting a fish fry from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Cost is $7 for adults and $4 for children ages 10 and younger. The VFW is located at Wilson and Ewing, Kansas City, Mo.

Celebration in the Park
Celebration in the Park will be held from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Concourse Park, Benton Boulevard and St. John Avenue, Kansas City, Mo. Attendees can fix their hunger with free hot dogs and hamburgers. First Sunday Family Fun Day
Kansas City Museum is hosting its First Sunday Family Fun Day from noon to 4 p.m. at the museum. Participate in scavenger hunts and learn about masks used in celebrations from around the world. Create your own Aztec, Peking Opera and gargoyle masks and learn about Dia de los Muertos sugar skulls. All are invited to attend this free event.

Hard Hat Happy Hour
Explore Kansas City Museum’s more than 100-year-old mansion home, Corinthian Hall, with a glass of wine at Kansas City Museum’s Hard Hat Happy Hour from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6. You’ll see Corinthian Hall in mid-renovation, the bare interior of the building exposed for the first time in decades. Examine 100-year-old craftsmanship and hear first-hand about plans for the grand mansion’s future with Museum Director Christopher Leitch and Museum staff. Cost is $5 and attendees must be 21 years old and older.

A little bit of country, a little bit of rock & roll
A musical benefit for the Fox 4 Love Fund for Children will be held on Saturday, Oct. 15, at Finnegan’s Hall, 503 E. 18th Ave., North Kansas City, Mo. Doors open at 6 p.m. and entertainment begins at 7 p.m. In addition, there will be a cash bar, mini auction and dancing after the show. Prizes will be awarded for the best costumes and dancers.
