Pueblo to Pueblo
Join the Kansas City Museum for its latest exhibit, Pueblo to Pueblo: The Legacy of Southwest Indian Pottery. The exhibit runs until June 25 in Corinthian Hall and is free to view. Tours of the exhibit are offered every 30 minutes from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Wednesday through Saturday. ESL Class

Recalling el pasado: Guadalupe Centers
Come by the Guadalupe Center’s administrative building (1015 Avenida Cesar E Chavez, KCMO, 64108) on Wednesday, June 15 beginning at 12:30 p.m. for a celebration of the center’s history. Hear from numerous voices of the Guadalupe Center, including UMKC Associate Professor Dr. Theresa Torres and Madelina Nunez from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

The Northeast Farmers’ Market (3001 Independence Ave., KCMO 64124) will be open on Thursday, June 16, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. There will be a wide assortment of vegetables, fruit, eggs, meat, bread, and coffee.
Thimble Thursdays – free concert series
Stop by the Garment District (one block west of 8th and Broadway) on Thursday, June 16 from 12:15 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. for a free concert. Bring your lunch, kick back, and enjoy live tunes from the hip-hop group Childish Adults. Free snacks will be provided.
Blue Valley Neighborhood Association Meeting
The Blue Valley neighborhood association will meet on Thursday, June 16, beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the Guadalupe Center on Truman Road. Look for the sign.
Feast of Fountains: a food truck fest
Stop by the north lawn of the National World War I Memorial (100 W. 26th Street, Kansas City, MO 64108) from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on June 16 for a food truck festival. Attendees can enjoy food from some of the city’s most popular food trucks. A portion of the proceeds from the events will go toward the City of Fountains Foundation. Music will be provided by The Good Sam Club Band.

Celebrating men and fathers: a family affair
This free event celebrating men, fathers, and family will be held at the Gregg/Klice Community Center (1600 John “Buck” O’Neil Way) on Friday, June 17, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. The event will include hot meals, kids fun, hair cuts, health services, family resources and more. U.S. Army Brigadier General Arnold N. Gordon-Bray will serve as the guest speaker.
Chair fitness
Join North-East Public Library at 9:30 a.m. for physical fitness. No matter what your limitations, maybe you can still reap the physical, mental and emotional benefits of exercise. This class is designed to give you a total body workout. Cardio, strength and flexibility exercises are all performed from a seated position.

Urban fishing kids derby
Come out to Spring Valley Park Lake (E. 28th St. & Spring Valley Drive) on Saturday June 18 from 8:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. for a free kids fishing derby. Registration is mandatory, and begins at 8:00 a.m. Urban American Outdoors will have their 11th Annual Urban Kids Fishing Derby for ages 4-16; must be accompanied by guardians. Bring rod, reel, tackle, bait and stringer. Prizes will be awarded. There will be a hot dog and goodie bag for all kids participating. $100 Prize for Biggest Fish caught. Knights of Columbus breakfast
The Knights of Columbus Council #4613 and Council #15287 will host a breakfast on Sunday, June 19, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at St. Anthony’s St. Joseph Hall (3208 Lexington, KCMO). Cost is $5.50 for adults and $3 for children under 12 years old. Help the Knights of Columbus help others.

Black Archives of Mid-America ‘With My Eyes No Longer Blind’ Exhibit
This permanent exhibit – named for the Langston Hughes poem – tells the story of African Americans in Kansas City from the time of Lewis and Clark to the mayorship of Emmanuel Cleaver II. Arranged both chronologically and thematically, this exhibit explores the development of churches, schools, places of entertainment, political organizations, businesses, and social clubs.
Kids Cafe
Kids 18 years old and younger are invited to the North-East library on Monday, June 20, to enjoy a free healthy snack courtesy of the library. Youths are invited to stop by at 2:00 p.m.

Heart of America Shakespeare Festival
The 24th iteration of the Heart of America Shakespeare Festival has begun, and performances of Twelfth Night will run Tuesdays-Sundays beginning at 8:00 p.m., through July 3 at Southmoreland Park (Emanuel Cleaver II Boulevard and Oak Street).

World Refugee Day
The Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences (KCU) will host a World Refugee Day celebration on Saturday, July 9, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at 1750 Independence Avenue. The event will begin with a panel discussion with local refugees, resettlement agencies, and others. The panel discussion will be followed by music, traditional dance, and food. This is part of an annual event by the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR).
