Pan American Association of Kansas City’s Student Art Competition

From now until March 26, the Kansas City Museum presents “Pan American Association of Kansas City’s Student Art Competition.” The Kansas City Museum is proud to be the venue for an exhibition of artwork by the winning high school students who participated in the Pan American Association of Kansas City’s Grand Boulevard of the Americas Student Art Competition. Winning artwork will be printed on vinyl banners and installed on Grand Boulevard in spring 2016 as part of the Grand Boulevard of the Americas project.

Pueblo to Pueblo

Join the Kansas City Museum for its latest exhibit, Pueblo to Pueblo: The Legacy of Southwest Indian Pottery and Now & Then. The exhibit runs from now until June 25 in Corinthian Hall and is free to view. At 3 p.m., head over to the North-East Library for a Chronic Disease Management Workshop. Open to all adults and free of charge. This workshop would benefit you if you have been diagnosed with a chronic disease, are living with someone with a chronic disease, or taking care of someone with a chronic disease.

Chair fitness

Join North-East Public Library at 9:30 a.m. for physical fitness. No matter what your limitations, maybe you can still reap the physical, mental and emotional benefits of exercise. This class is designed to give you a total body workout. Cardio, strength and flexibility exercises are all performed from a seated position.

Story time and craft

Join North-East Public Library for its weekly story time and craft at 10:30 a.m. Parents and kids will enjoy stories geared toward toddlers and pre-schoolers. Get ready for songs, tongue twisters and dramatic play.

Knights of Columbus Lenten dinner

Join the Knights of Columbus Cardinal Glennon and council #4613 for weekly Lenten fish fry dinner. Menu includes beer battered codfish, fries and coleslaw. Dinners then Bingo from 5 – 7:30 p.m. at the St. Joseph’s Hall at St. Anthony’s Church, 3208 Lexington Ave., every Friday night through Lent.

Lenten Shrimp Dinners

Sponsored by the Hibernians at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, cafeteria, Linwood and Broadway; Fridays during Lent from Feb. 12 to Mar 18. All you can eat for $14 or for families $36 from 5 – 7:30 p.m.

Communiversity Spanish Class

Join the North-East Public Library at 10 a.m. to learn how to speak conversational Spanish.

Computer Class

Join North-East Public Library for class on the fundamentals of Microsoft Word which will focus on templates as well as the various menu options. Class begins at 10:30 a.m. at the library, 6000 Wilson Rd.

Fourth annual Easter egg hunt

All residents of the Historic Northeast are invited bring their children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews for this annual event. In addition to thousands of eggs to hunt, there are bounce houses, games and prizes and the Easter bunny. The hunt takes place at 9 a.m. Saturday, March 26.

Resurrection Celebration

Calvary Temple is hosting a Resurrection Celebration in Budd Park from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Saturday, March 26. There will be an Easter egg hunt at 11:30 a.m. followed by food and other events. All are invited to attend.
