Beads, Beans and Beer
Join the NEKCCC for its annual Beads, Beans and Beer Mardi Gras Party. The event takes place from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. Fat Tuesday Feb, 9 at the Don Bosco Center, 580 Campbell St. Raffle takes place at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Neighborhood Association meetings
The Pendleton Heights Neighborhood Association will host its next monthly meeting from 7 – 8 p.m. at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences, East Independence Avenue. The Independence Plaza Neighborhood Council will also host its monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m. at Woodland Elementary, 711 Woodland Ave.

Walk with ease
At 3 p.m. at the North-East Library, this course will teach participants how to walk and stretch safely, increase flexibility, and improve balance. Weekly incentives will be given to participants. Join to learn how walking can improve your fitness and help manage your arthritis pain.
Adult Thursday Games
Join other adults at the North-East Public Library, 6000 Wilson Rd., Kansas City, Mo., to play a variety of games at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
ESL Class
Join the North-East Public Library at 10 a.m. to learn basic English skills: reading, writing, and conversation. No fee or books required.

Chair fitness
Join North-East Public Library at 9:30 a.m. for physical fitness. No matter what your limitations, maybe you can still reap the physical, mental and emotional benefits of exercise. This class is designed to give you a total body workout. Cardio, strength and flexibility exercises are all performed from a seated position.
Story time and craft
Join North-East Public Library for its weekly story time and craft at 10:30 a.m. Parents and kids will enjoy stories geared toward toddlers and pre-schoolers. Get ready for songs, tongue twisters and dramatic play.

Sponsored by the Hibernians at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, cafeteria, Linwood and Broadway; Fridays during Lent from Feb. 12 to Mar 18. All you can eat for $14 or for families $36 from 5 – 7:30 p.m.
Kansas City Museum reopens
The Kansas City Museum reopens with an exhibition opening reception for Pan American Association of Kansas City’s Student Art Competition from 5 – 7 p.m. in the Carriage House. This event is free to attend. Light refreshments and food will be served, as well as live music by Pablo Sanhueza & The Subtropicals, a Afrolatin American music band.

Parents Night Out
Calling all PH parents! Are you ready for a night out? Take advantage of free child care, provided by your neighbors. Drop the kids off, enjoy some cocktails with other parents, then go hit the town. Or binge-watch Netflix. We don’t care, as long as you enjoy yourself. Scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 13th. More details coming soon.
Art of Love Valentine Coffee
The Fourth Annual “ART OF LOVE” Valentine Coffee is scheduled to take place from 9 – 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, in Corinthian Hall at the Kansas City Museum. This event is free to attend but guests must RSVP to Paul Gutierrez at paul.gutierrez@kcmo.org. Spaces are Limited (with both seated and standing RSVPs available for the performance). Hosted by the Scarritt Renaissance Coffee Club and the Kansas City Museum, sample decadent sweets and savories while enjoying a unique sneak peek performance of the “Elixir of Love” by the Lyric Opera of Kansas City.

Join the The Knights of Columbus Council #4613 and Council #15287 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. is St. Joseph’s Hall at St. Anthony’s, 3208 Lexington Ave. Admission is $5.50 for adults and $3 for children under 12-years-old. Traditional Knights breakfast until noon, then crispy tacos for lunch.
