Take a hard hat tour of Corinthian Hall, the more than 100-year-old home of lumber baron Robert A. Long and his family. Kansas City Museum, 3218 Gladstone Blvd., Kansas City, Mo., will host the free tours on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.

La Chalupa Farmers Market
Mattie Rhodes’ La Chalupa Farmers Market will be held from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and will feature locally grown produce. The farmers market will be held every Thursday at the Mattie Rhodes Center, 148 N. Topping Ave., Kansas City, Mo. SNAP/EBT cards will be accepted.

 

Million Dollar Movie
North-East Public Library, 6000 Wilson Rd., Kansas City, Mo., will present a classic movie and refreshments, free of charge, at 10 a.m.

Northeast Farmers Market
Don Bosco Centers is hosting the Northeast Farmers Market, which features fresh fruits and vegetables grown by New Roots for Refugees Farmers. The farmers market will be held every Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. outside the former charter high school at Independence Avenue and Garfield.

 

Summer reading and craft
Come explore your world through story time and make a fun craft related to the summer reading them, “One world, many stories.” The program will be held at 10:30 a.m. at North-East Public Library.

 

Youth arts program
Learn part II of the basic techniques of hand building pottery at 1:30 p.m. Ages six through 17 are invited to attend the program at North-East Public Library.

“In the Pink of the Evening” free concert series
Northeast Arts KC is hosting a free concert series beginning July 23. 5 Star Jazz Band, comprised of student musicians, will play Saturday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Concourse Park at the Colonnade, Saint John Avenue and Benton Boulevard. Attendees are asked to bring their own food and beverages, along with chairs and blankets.

 

Learn Microsoft Word basics
Attend the free workshop to learn the basics of Microsoft Word at 10:30 a.m. at North-East Public Library.

Whatsoever Racing for the BBQ
Whatsoever Community Center will host the fundraiser, Racing for the BBQ, on July 29-30 in Fleming Park at the Blue Springs campground. Activities will include a beer garden and live music featuring blues, R&B and rock. Other activities will include a BBQ contest, poker walk, sausage eating contest and more. Whatsoever has been serving the Northeast for 96 years.

 

KCMSD academic and athletic meetings
The Kansas City, Missouri School District will host meetings July 28-29 to help students in grades eighth through 12th prepare for a successful academic and athletic future. Salvation Army summer youth programs

Free mammograms
Sign up for free mammograms through Sheffield Family Life Center. Sheffield received a grant from Susan G. Komen for the Cure Greater Kansas City, in partnership with St. Luke’s Cancer Institute, to provide free mammograms to women who qualify. Appointments are being accepted now and the mammograms will be offered on July 28 at Sheffield Family Life Center, 5700 Winner Rd., Kansas City, Mo.
