Book of Revelation explained

For 12 weeks, from Wednesday, March 18, to Wednesday, June 3, Dr. George Westlake Jr., Pastor Emeritus of the Sheffield Family Life Center, 5700 Winner Road, will be teaching the book of Revelations during Family night at the center. The classes run from 7 – 8:30 p.m. and feature services and programs for every member of the family.

Wimpy Kid Club

Attention all fans of The Diary of a Wimpy Kid! North-East Public Library will host a book club at the library at 5 p.m. Attendees will read from the book, act out scenes, create crafts and play games.

Divining the Museum: Visions of Past, Present, and Future

The Kansas City Museum’s new, temporary exhibition features Kansas City artists and students of the Kansas City Art Institute curated by Max Adrian and Paige Beltowski. This exhibition showcases contemporary artwork including installations, sculpture, ceramics, and photography alongside original objects from the Museum’s collection. Exhibition tours are free and will be available on the hour from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Thursday-Saturday, May 7-30, and Wednesday-Saturday, June 3-13. Please note that the last tour starts at 3:00 p.m.

 Northeast Kansas City Arts Summer Concert Series

Join the Northeast Kansas City Arts for its first concert at dusk concert this summer. The music runs from 7 – 9 p.m.  at the Colonnade at Concourse Park. The first performer in the series is Rex Hobart & the Honky Tonk Standards.

Harmony Project recital

All are cordially invited to attend The Harmony Project’s students’ first End of Semester Recital from 10:30 to 11:30 am at the Northeast Community Center. The recital is free and open to the public. Parking is available in our parking lots. Entrance to the front lot is on Wabash Avenue and entrance to the larger back lot is on Olive Street.

Armed Forces Recognition Day

Attention VFW Post #9997, 6801 Wilson Road, is hosting an Armed Forces Recognition Day, beginning at noon. There will be food, music and activities. This event is open to the public.

Sign up for a free e-mail account and follow along with this tutorial that teaches the ins and outs of sending and receiving email, as well as how to organize your messages. Class begins at 10:30 a.m. at the North-East Public Library, 6000 Wilson Rd.

Take Five

Join the Kansas City Museum and Potluck Productions from 7 – 9 p.m. Thursday, May 21, as they present “Take Five,” a performance showcasing five short plays written by area women playwrights and read by professional actors. Tickets are $5 per person and include a dessert reception from 7-7:30 p.m. The performance starts at 7:30 p.m. “Take Five” is directed by Glendora Davis and produced by Mary Beth Gordon, Nancy Parks, Lezlie Revelle, and Joyce Slater.
