Kansas City libraries

All Kansas City library locations will close at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 24, and remain closed on Thursday, Dec. 25, in observance of the Christmas holiday.

Kansas City Museum

The Kansas City Museum will be closed to the public until Sunday, March 4, 2015. Private and group tours of the Museum will be available upon request. Contact Anna Marie Tutera at 816-513-7568 or anna.tutera@kcmo.org to schedule a tour.

Kansas City Post Offices

Post Offices nationwide will be open on Christmas Eve, Wednesday, Dec. 24. Most Post Offices will shorten retail lobby hours and close at noon on these holiday eves. Regular mail delivery for Dec. 24 and 31 will be unaffected by the change. Revised hours will be posted at each Post Office. Be sure to deposit your mail into all blue collection boxes by noon on Dec. 24, regardless of the final collection times posted. This means if the final collection time is already before noon (12 p.m.), there will be no change. However, if the final collection time is normally after noon (12 p.m.), mail may be collected early.

Merry Christmas

The Jackson County offices will closed Thursday and Friday, Dec. 25 and 26th. Kansas City, Mo., offices will be closed in observance of the Christmas holiday on Dec. 25. Post Offices will be closed Thursday, Dec. 25 and will be open and regular mail delivery will resume on Friday, Dec. 26. Mail from Blue Collection Boxes May Be Collected Early.

Computer Class – Microsoft

Join North-East Public Library for class on the fundamentals of Microsoft Word which will focus on templates as well as the various menu options. Class begins at 10:30 a.m. at the library, 6000 Wilson Rd.

 

Sunday, December 28

Sunday Family Movie

Join North-East Public Library, 6000 Wilson Rd., for its Sunday Family Movie at 2 p.m. at the library. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Harmony Project KC

Join There is still time to enroll in the after-school music program at the Northeast Community Center. The program is for children ages 6 – 10 years old. Class start at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2015. For more information, call 816-231-7738.

Scarritt Renaissance Neighborhood Association

The Scarritt Renaissance Neighborhood Association will hold its annual election for 11 board positions at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 5, 2015 at the Kansas City Museum. You are eligible to vote if your 2014 dues were paid by Dec 5, 2014. You will be able to pay your 2015 dues that night. Dues are $10 per person and $30 per business for residents, property owners and businesses within the SRNA boundaries.
