Multiple road closures will take effect this Saturday for the Waddell & Reed Kansas City Marathon.

Beginning at 6 a.m. Saturday, the Kansas City Police Department will begin closing streets along the race course.

The race begins at 7:05 a.m. and police officers will re-open streets on a rolling basis as the last runners come through. If it’s necessary for a vehicle to cross during the race, there will be limited opportunities to do so at police controlled intersections.

All roads are expected to be reopened by approximately 1 p.m.
