Kansas City, Missouri School District Board of Education has continued to meet in numerous emergency executive sessions to discuss their plan of action following the resignation of Superintendent Dr. John Covington.
During an executive session Tuesday afternoon, the board named Chief of Staff Dr. Chace Ramey as acting superintendent. The board is considering its options for an interim superintendent.
Also during the meeting, board president Airick West stepped down from his position as president, but will remain on the board. Board member Derek Richey was named acting board president.
Another executive session has been scheduled for 5 p.m. today, which will include a discussion on “board president issues,” “personnel,” and “legal issues.”
