A pedestrian is dead following a hit-and-run near 18th Street and 71 Highway on August 27.

Investigation revealed that a pedestrian was walking in or crossing the northbound lanes of 71 Highway. Just south of 18th Street, the pedestrian was struck by a tan or gold minivan that left the scene without stopping.

This is fatality #60, compared to #58 at this time last year and the investigation is ongoing. All lanes of northbound 71 highway were closed to traffic at 22nd Street for approximately three and a half hours. The highway has since been reopened.

The victim has been identified as 32-year-old Paige Duncan.

Detectives are looking for a tan or silver 2005-2007 Saturn Relay with front end damage (not actual van pictured).

In regard to this crash, detectives are asking for anyone who might have been In the area of 19th street to Truman Road on 71 northbound around 11 p.m. on August 27.
