After another successful Halloween pop-up featuring live entertainment and craft cocktails, the coffee shop at 2200 Lexington Ave. in Pendleton Heights will expand its winter activities to include a pop-up bar, hosting local makers and artists, and a food trailer at Winter Magic on Cliff Drive.
The Northeast Pole, PH Coffee’s latest holiday pop-up bar, opens on December 8. The Christmas magic runs from 6 to 11 p.m. December 8 through 10, 15 through 17 and 20 through 23. The pop-up bar will serve about 10 specially crafted holiday cocktails and sweet and savory bites.
“Our entertainment for this round is going to be local singers,” PH Coffee owner Eric Rosell said. “From 6 to 7 p.m. we’re going to have Santa actually in the pop-up bar, and then from 7 to 8, 8 to 9 and 9 to 10 p.m., there will be a selection of singers.”
Each singer will perform a 40-minute set of holiday music.
“We’ll have live entertainment going on at the pop-up bar, and then in conjunction with that, we’re going to have a light display – nothing crazy – but a light display in our parking lot,” Rosell said.
The light display will not only serve as the perfect spot to snap a selfie, but it will be the “last stop” for Winter Magic as visitors drive through the neighborhood.
PH Coffee will have two options for those who want to visit, either walk-in availability or tickets. Tickets get you access to the event, but tables are first come, first served. They’ll have two time slots per evening, with 75 people per time slot.
“It’s different from our other pop-up bars where you can reserve the table,” Rosell said. “This one is basically you can come to the pop-up bar with an RSVP where you can get into the pop-up bar, or you can come to the door and hopefully we’ll have room for you.”
As the pop-ups grow, Rosell is excited to welcome in both new visitors and those returning. He wants it to be as open as possible for anyone who wants to show up.
“And then in addition to all of that, we also have a market happening in the Social Gallery,” Rosell said. “It’ll be the exact same time as the pop up bar. In fact, your entrance to the pop-up bar gives you access to the market, live entertainment, and obviously the food and beverages and all that we have going on in conjunction with that.”
PH Coffee’s maker’s market will have unique and one of a kind holiday gifts to purchase from local makers and artists. More than 30 vendors will rotate throughout the month of December.
“It’s everyone from candle makers to people that do art on canvas, basically everything,” Rosell said. “Every single weekend there’ll be a different selection of artists, so not every weekend will be the same individuals that are going to be there.”
The market will be open to all ages and free to attend. To visit the pop-up bar it will be $10, in advance or $15 at the door, and free for kids 12 and under.
At the Winter Magic food trailer, PH Coffee is serving drinks and snacks. Winter Magic is open nightly through January 1.
“Obviously, we’ll do very warm apple cider, hot chocolate, we’re also making Reindeer Chow – which everyone’s familiar with puppy chow, which is gluten free Chex cereal, chocolate, peanut butter, Christmas M&Ms and some deliciousness on the outside with powdered sugar.”
They’re also serving Spicy Santa, a savory holiday snack with a kick.
