Gladstone Elementary School honors Kansas Citian Ollie Gates of Gates Bar-B-Q during the heroes assembly May 26. Gladstone first graders have been learning about their “local hero” all school year and have met with him several times. One of the purposes of the heroes program is to learn about local ordinary people who have done extraordinary things.
