Second graders at Gladstone Elementary School shout their “hero chant” about Kansas Citian Ollie Gates. Gladstone honored Gates with a special program May 27 as part of its hero’s program. All school year, first graders have been learning about “local hero” Gates. In addition to performing a song they wrote about Gates, first graders presented him with a memory book, an ABC book about Gates and a DVD of their music video.
