UPDATE 1:30 THURSDAY: The child’s family has been located.
The Kansas City Police Department (KCPD) is asking for the public’s help locating the family of a young boy.
Around 10 a.m. Thursday, an adult male, pictured below, walked into Emmanuel Cleaver Family Educational Center at 4736 Prospect with the child. He asked staff to keep him safe and then left.
According to KCPD, the child is approximately 3-4 years old and goes by the first name of Treylin, though they are unsure of the spelling.
As of 12:45 p.m., Children’s Division is on their way to take protective custody of the child until family can be located.
KCPD asks anyone with information on the identity or whereabouts of the adult male or family member of this child to please call the Juvenile Unit at 816-234-5150.
