Mary Joan (Tulipana) Miller, 81, passed away June 12, 2021. Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. on Friday, June 18, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, KCMO. Cremation will follow with a private burial at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to St. John’s Cemetery, Dover, MO 64022
Joan was born February 4, 1940, to the late John J. and Thelma (Scrivner) Tulipana. She grew up in Northeast Kansas City, MO and lived across the street from Lykins Park and Community Center where she enjoyed all sports and activities – especially tennis, softball, and volleyball – and where she met her future husband, David Miller. They married in 1959 and embarked upon 61 years of a shared entrepreneurial spirit and established many successful enterprises. Most notable was A Real Estate Company in Northeast KC where she was manager and top salesperson for 30 years.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents, her son David W. Miller Jr., her sister Frances, and her brother Joseph. She is survived by her husband David; her children Diana Smith (Mike) and Victor Miller; her grandchildren Crista, Philip, Gabriella, David III (Trey), Cameron, and Noah; her great-grandchildren Eleanor and Gideon; her siblings Barbara Witherow, John Tulipana Jr., Michael Tulipana, Peter Tulipana, Maggie Charlton, and Charles Tulipana; and many nieces and nephews.
