Dana Carter has been a principal for the past several years at Gladstone Elementary, located at 355 N Elmwood.

“It’s definitely a joyful job,” she said. “You feel like you’re making a difference in somebody’s life.”

Carter said she uses her role as a principal to help students grow, but also connects with the teachers so they are able to pass things on to the students.

“They’re really dedicated to our kids,” she said.

Carter said the students make her feel special as a principal and they look up to her.

“They think you’re someone really special and cool,” she said. “They look up to you and they say beautiful things.”

She said she loves being able to help the students learn how to interact with each other socially and enjoys being a role model for them.
