On February 8th, 2018, the Fiscal Year 2018-19 budget was submitted to the City Council. On Thursday, March 22nd the City Council will be adopting the $1.66 billion budget. The council wants to hear the voices of its citizens on this matter and is offering a variety of ways for citizens to give their feedback on the budget proposal.
The public is welcome and invited to attend one or more of the scheduled sessions which will provide an opportunity to interact directly with council members. These four public meetings will take place at the following dates, times and locations:
Saturday, February 17th, 2018 from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM at Christ the King (Narthex, south-facing), 8510 Wornall Rd. Kansas City, Missouri 64114
Saturday, February 24th, 2018 from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM at Guadelupe Center (Pre-K/Elementary Schools) Auditorium, 5123 E. Truman Rd. Kansas City, Missouri 64127
Saturday, March 3rd, 2018 from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM at the RB Doolin Center (North Kansas City School District Building), 1900 NE 46th St. Kansas City, Missouri 64116
Thursday, March 8th, 2018 from 12:30 PM – 2:30 PM, at the Kansas City Police Department Community Room (Police Headquarters Building), 1111 Locust St. Kansas City, Missouri 64116
Citizens are also encouraged to come and give feedback during City Council budget deliberations, which take place at City Hall, 414 East 12th Street, in the 10th floor committee room. The sessions start at 8:30 a.m., and are scheduled for March 7, 14 and 21 during the Finance & Governance Committee meeting.
Additionally, citizens can express their thoughts through on “on-line town hall” forum at KCMomentum.com. This option is available 24/7 and feedback left in this format will be shared with the City Council.
