KANSAS CITY, Missouri – KCMO Mayor Sly James, City Manager Troy Schulte, and the City Council gathered at the Kansas City University Administration Building (1750 Independence Avenue) on Tuesday, June 14 to hold a strategy session regarding the city’s five-year citywide business plan. The group tweaked the City of Kansas City, Missouri’s vision statement, mission statement, goals, and values during the two-hour meeting. They also added a new goal, relating to housing issues throughout the city. The new housing goal is “To sustain the city’s diverse housing stock, foster affordable housing, workforce housing, and sustainable developments, and revitalize aging neighborhoods.” City Manager Troy Schulte noted at the end of the session that the goals discussed during the meeting would be used to help guide the city budget process moving forward.
