KANSAS CITY, Missouri – The Northeast Kansas City Chamber will present a series of discussions designed to inform land owners and property managers about property law.

The series of discussion will focus on owning and operating investment properties in Historic Northeast, ranging from landlord tenant law and procedure to identifying and acquiring prospective properties. The series is sponsored by NEKC Chamber of Commerce with discussions led by Jerry W. Potocnik, Attorney At Law.

The series discussions are scheduled to be held from 10 – 11:30 a.m. at the Northeast Kansas City Library, 6000 Wilson Road. Dates for the series include:

• Oct. 17, 2014: Overview of Landlord Tenant Law and Court Procedure

• Nov. 21, 2014: Constructing a Good Lease Agreement

• Dec. 19, 2014:Tenant Screening – Case.net Tutorial

• Jan. 16, 2015:Crime Free Prevention Discussion

• Feb. 20, 2015: Evaluating Prospective Investment Properties

• March 20, 2015: Bank Foreclosures and Tax Foreclosure Sales

Discussions are free of charge to NEKC Chamber members as part of membership benefits. Current members may enroll in the series by contacting the chamber at 816-231-3312 or Mr. Potocnik at 816-224-3133 prior to Oct. 16, 2014. Non-members will be charged for the classes, but will receive a complimentary one-year membership in the NEKC Chamber upon enrollment. Applicants with less than four employees will be asked to invest $125; applicants with between five and 10 employees will be asked to invest $200; applicants with between 11-20 employees will be asked to invest $275 and applicants with more than 21 employees will be asked to invest $450.00. Class size is limited to 30 participants.
