Tuesday, Feb. 25, was the first day in Kansas City, Mo. voters were able to cast an absentee ballot for the upcoming April 8, 2014, election.
Those who qualify are able to vote using an absentee ballot in-person until 5 p.m. Monday, April 7. Ballots can also be cast by mail and must be received by the election board no later than 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 8. For mail-in ballots, an application must be submitted to the election board. The applications can be found at www.kceb.org or by calling the voting office at 816-842-4820 extension 225.
Missouri election laws allow registered voters to cast an absentee ballot if they meet one of the five following requirements: will be absent from voting jurisdiction on voting day, are incapacitated or confined due to illness or physical disability, restriction by religious belief or practices, are employed by an election authority or are incarcerated but have retained all voting qualifications.
