If you’d like to find out more about the city’s proposed budget for the upcoming fiscal year, three public meetings will be held in February to further detail the budget.

The proposed budget of $1.4 billion is a 5.1 percent increase ($67,302,980) over last year’s budget. For the first time, the proposed budget will be available in line item detail at www.data.kcmo.org and is divided into two parts: Governmental Activities and Business-Type Activities. Governmental activities represent programs and services paid for by taxes, fees and service charges, such as police, fire, public works, among others. Business activities include water, sewer and stormwater utilities and the city’s airport system.
