Last week the city passed some hard hitting new revisions to its scrap metal ordinance designed to thwart scrap thieves at the source. That ordinance isn’t sittin’ too well with some salvagers and scrappers who deal on a cash-only basis when they load up their booty and head for the pay window.

This conservative newshound isn’t real fond of over-reaching legislation but knows a rogue dog when she sees it.

The new revisions are like locks on a door – they’re there to keep honest people honest, nothing more, nothing less.

This crafty li’l canine also wonders how long it’ll take those resourceful shopping cart pushers to fabricate an over-sized Radio Flyer in which to cart said scrap.

We’re waiting and we doubt the local cart pushin’ constabulary will disappoint.
