Since 2022, the Kansas City Museum (KCM) has sponsored an annual calendar distributed with December issues of The Northeast News. This year’s calendar features KCM in a springtime setting, when the magnolia trees are in full bloom. This photo is courtesy of Northeast photographer, David Remley.
This calendar’s reverse, features our Newscat mascot Inky and can be reused as gift wrap the following year or as an alternative to the calendar. This special feature was wrapped as an outside cover for the Dec. 18 issue but is still available — in limited quantities — at our office, 2659 Independence Blvd.
The Northeast News extends gratitude to the KCM Foundation for its continued support of community journalism. The calendar produced for 2024, which featured a poster map of Historic Northeast designed by former Northeast News Art Director Lillian Taylor Gibbs, won a First Place award — Best Newspaper Produced Insert — from Missouri Press Association advertising and marketing executives.
An 11 by 17 inch glossy reprint of this poster is available for $10, frame not included. Call 816-241-0765 for more details.
