Just before 10pm Wednesday evening, KCPD’s Accident Investigation Unit responded to the area of Independence Avenue and Indiana.
A red Lincoln MKS was traveling west on the Avenue and a pedestrian walked out in front of the moving vehicle and was struck. He was then thrown up on the hood of the vehicle and his head struck the windshield.
The victim was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.
