Some things in life happen unexpectedly, and they are not always good; that’s why Hubbard & Kurtz is here. Hubbard and Kurtz is a local law firm whose lawyers and paralegals have been serving the Kansas City area in a variety of capacities since 1998.

The firm is owned and run by William Hubbard and John Kurtz, who met while working together at the Popham Law Firm before branching out to start their own practice. Hubbard and Kurtz is currently located at 1718 Walnut in Kansas City, Missouri, and the firm is known for the eagle mural on the side of the building.
“We want clients to lean on us and we treat them to show them that they matter,” says Kurtz.

Hubbard and Kurtz handles probate, wrongful death and wrongfully accused cases. Sometimes people get caught up in messy situations, but the team at Hubbard and Kurtz believe that all of their clients are entitled to proper legal representation.

The law firm also offers some extra help with their summer interns. Crystal Cook has been interning with Hubbard and Kurtz for five years. She studies Criminal Justice and Business at Emporia State and plans to graduate in May of 2019.

“I have learned a lot being an intern here; I have met a lot of great people and have had great experiences,” says Cook.

Kurtz says he enjoys having the help and always looks forward to learning from younger generations.
“They not only help with the work here, but they also help me with the technology and keeping me up to date,” said Kurtz.

Hubbard and Kurtz has seen a lot of cases during the past 20 years, and each case is different from the last. In one case from 2016, a young lady who was a prisoner was raped and impregnated by a correctional guard; the law firm was able to sue the prison for it.

Hubbard and Kurtz represent clients from the Missouri and Kansas sides, and they are always available to make sure you get justice served.
